The ultimate goal of The ORIGINS Project is to reduce the rising epidemic of non-communicable diseases through 'a healthy start to life'.
As well as ORIGINS long-term core research, there are a number of clinical trials, early interventions and shorter-term research studies that sit within the project.
The ORIGINS Project provides researchers, students, clinicians and universities with a unique opportunity to play a crucial role in changing the health of future generations.
Reviewing the development and wellbeing of children, prior to them commencing preschool, kindergarten and/or an early learning environment.
The Kindy Readiness Project, an ORIGINS sub-project, will provide an opportunity to review the development and wellbeing of children, prior to them commencing preschool, kindergarten and/or an early learning environment.
ORIGINS families with children that are turning three-years-old are invited to join the study.
What is involved?
Participants will be asked to complete online questionnaires at, or around the time, their child turns three years of age. The online questionnaires, which should take no more than 45 minutes in total to complete, will consist of:

Through completion of the online questionnaires, participants will have the opportunity to raise any concerns regarding the child’s development, behaviour and/or wellbeing. Families will be provided with a letter outlining the results, and if concerns are identified, they will receive feedback and suggestions on referrals to public clinics or private allied and/or specialists via their GP.
