The ultimate goal of The ORIGINS Project is to reduce the rising epidemic of non-communicable diseases through 'a healthy start to life'.
As well as ORIGINS long-term core research, there are a number of clinical trials, early interventions and shorter-term research studies that sit within ORIGINS. Known as sub-projects, these studies look at multiple aspects of child and family health and development.
The ORIGINS Project provides researchers, students, clinicians and universities with a unique opportunity to play a crucial role in changing the health of future generations.
ORIGINS is on the lookout for our Long COVID Study.
As we enter a new wave of COVID in the community, we would like to remind participants to 'think ORIGINS' should your child become infected with the disease.
Since beginning our Long COVID Study this year, we have already learnt so much about how, and possibly why, some people experience Long COVID (extended symptoms beyond normal infection), but we have only just scratched the surface.
The ORIGINS Long COVID Project is asking for blood and urine samples to be collected if your child becomes infected with COVID-19 or has been infected in the last three months, so we can investigate the biochemical changes associated with COVID.
