The ultimate goal of The ORIGINS Project is to reduce the rising epidemic of non-communicable diseases through 'a healthy start to life'.
As well as ORIGINS long-term core research, there are a number of clinical trials, early interventions and shorter-term research studies that sit within ORIGINS. Known as sub-projects, these studies look at multiple aspects of child and family health and development.
The ORIGINS Project provides researchers, students, clinicians and universities with a unique opportunity to play a crucial role in changing the health of future generations.
The sunshine came to join us on Saturday 29th April when families from The ORIGINS Project came together to celebrate, at the Annual ORIGINS Family Fun Day for 2023.
Delamere Park in Currambine was the venue to host 170 families, a portion of the 8,500 families involved in the project, to thank them for their commitment to ORIGINS and research in WA.
Generously supported by Goodstart Early Learning, families enjoyed the gorgeous autumn day, as well as delicious healthy treats and lots of fun activities on offer by Playgroup WA, Goodstart, MBA Sports Coaching and Paint the Town ‘ReAd’.
ORIGINS families give so much to the project, including their time, data and bio samples over their five-year commitment from pregnancy, the event was a chance for the project team to say thank you, and to give a little back for all they give to the project.
