As well as ORIGINS long-term core research, there are a number of clinical trials, early interventions and shorter-term research studies that sit within ORIGINS. Known as sub-projects, these studies look at multiple aspects of child and family health and development.
Brain and behaviour research encompasses a child's learning, development and mental health - and the impact and development of conditions like cerebral palsy, autism and intellectual disability.
Brain and Behaviour sub-projects explore the developmental, genetic, family and environmental determinants of child wellbeing. They investigate how clinical, educational and community practices can provide every child with the best opportunity for optimal health and development in the first years of life.
