The ultimate goal of The ORIGINS Project is to reduce the rising epidemic of non-communicable diseases through 'a healthy start to life'.
As well as ORIGINS long-term core research, there are a number of clinical trials, early interventions and shorter-term research studies that sit within the project.
The ORIGINS Project provides researchers, students, clinicians and universities with a unique opportunity to play a crucial role in changing the health of future generations.
On March 20, ORIGINS celebrated our wonderful families
Snakes, koalas, icy poles and tattoos were the order of the day, as we thanked our participant families for their involvement and commitment to research.
Their generous donation of time and support is not only improving the health of their own families, but the families of future generations.
The annual Family Day event had to be cancelled last year due to the COVID pandemic, so the ORIGINS team were excited to be able to get together and celebrate with our research community.
The gorgeous Pearsall Hocking Community Centre, generously provided by the City of Wanneroo, protected the crowd from the scorching 36 degree heat.
The event was a huge success with lots of positive feedback from attendants as well as the Mayor of Wanneroo, Tracey Roberts, who also came along to support the project.
